This is my 42nd post on this blog - huzzah! - and therefore I have to post something about The Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy, which was the first book I really, truly remember loving. It must have been 2nd year high school, so I would have been 13 and since then once in a while I will pull my copy off the shelves and wander through the insanity that is Douglas Adams adventure through time and space post the Earth being destroyed.

So I have scourered the net and found a piece of H2G2 design which I am now in love with. As a homage to this book, design company Lost Weekend have customised 42 limited edition Fritz Hansen Egg chairs. The chairs, originally designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1958, have been embroidered with the design teams depiction of the moment where the Earth explodes, demolished by the Vogon Constructor Fleet so a Hyper Space Byway could be built...it's really our own fault for being "mostly harmless."
Who knew the end of the world would be so pretty and colourful! I want one!
