S o l i d P o e t r y

Solid Poetry by Frederik Molenschot is a series of concrete products which are reactive with water. When the concrete becomes wet, the floral patterns begin to appear on the surface.

The idea is based on the way leaves leave behind their shadows on the pavement creating perfect replicas of themselves during the autumn. I love these markings and the idea of patterns appearing out of nowhere really tickles me. I'm guessing it's done through coating the cement in some sort of sealant, thus repealing the water in certain areas, like using nail varnish as a stain resist when you're colouring
