On the 7th Day of Christmas...

...this blog gave to thee...
...seven shoes to choose from...
...six party dresses...
...five gold rings!..
...four little shorts...
...three tasty treats...
...two fancy stamps...
...and a Cathedral made of seeds.

So, it's New Years Eve, we've sorted out the dresses, now just for the shoes and this year I would wear all of them, bar possibly number 4, not because I don't think they're lovely - why would I post them if I didn't think they were - but while I'm not usually a fan of the hoof style heel, the colour and curve of these ones have swayed me...though they're definitely more a standing around and being fashionable heel than a 'trotting' around town one.

The rest are a little more reasonable in that respect...though hands off number seven...they're mine!

1. Aldo Prue Platform Court Shoes from ASOS (£65.00)
2. Turquoise Irregular Choice Warm Rays High Heels from Schuh (£75.00)
3. Christian Louboutin, Ron Ron 100mm in Chartreuse via Pinterest
4. Benett Wedge from Aldo (£45.49)
5. Christian Louboutin Mago 160mm in Black via Pinterest
6. Jones! by Delicious Platform Stiletto High-heel via Pinterest
7a. Kate Spade Loire Caramel and Black Spot Pumps via Lyst
7b. Kate Spade Loire Camel and Gold Glitter Spot Pumps via Pinterest

Now, okay, number seven is a bit of a cheat. But not as bad a cheat as it could have been, you see, there are three colour-ways for Kate Spades beautiful, beautiful, beautiful spotty pumps! Yes, they also come in black with black glitter spots and yes, I am in love. Completely and utterly. To the point where (a) I couldn't choose between them all for this post and (b) I'm seriously trying to work out in my head how I can replicate at least the glittery pairs without having to spend three months wages and (c) would consider three months wages well spent with these if I wasn't being sensible.

I'm sure Pinterest will hold the answers!

On the 6th Day of Christmas...

...this blog gave to thee...

...six party dresses...
...five gold rings!..
...four little shorts...
...three tasty treats...
...two fancy stamps...
...and a Cathedral made of seeds.

I'm a dress person who doesn't wear dresses. If I were skinny or at least had decent legs, I would definitely be a floral dress and Doc Marten kind of a girl...I was a little little during the era of grunge (not the ear of grunge as I originally typed) but I do like the combination of girlie and masculine.

Anyway, it's the sixth day of Christmas and today, as usual, we have dresses in which to party New Years Eve away in. Hopefully helped by the shoes that will follow tomorrow. So, here are my party dress selections for this year, any of which I would love to wear!

1. Izabel London Chiffon Rose Dress in Burgundy from House of Fraser (£35.00)
2. Sequin Lace Prom Dress from Dorothy Perkins (£46.00)
3. Ballerina Dress by Oh My Love from Topshop (£22.00)
4. Hobbs Invitation Aurora Midi Dress in Dark Blue from House of Fraser (£50.00)
5. Petal Fit and Flare Dress from Phase Eight (£69.00)
6. Karen Millen Blossom Print Collection Dress in Multi-Coloured from House of Frasers (£95.00)

I really want the Sequin Lace Prom Dress from DP's, you need to look at it close up to get the prettiness of the fabric but I'd be wearing it with a pair of Doc Marten Ofira shoe boots in Oxblood and an Orla Kiely Teal Boucle Coat...all I'd need to top it off is find the perfect set of false eyelashes and something glittery.

Yeah I'm basically using this post as a way of working out my dream wardrobe, but hey, that's why I have my One Day Wardrobe on Pinterest.

Monday Mood Board: Primroses

Row 1:
Yellow Primrose Flower Set by NatureMandalas|Etsy,
Primrose Colour by Stephen Lipton
Row 2:
Fairytale Family by Mario Testino via My Modern Metropolis,
Primula = Spring via Blomsterverkstad,
Primrose by Esther Moline

A couple of weeks back, I posted a mood board inspired by crocuses as a bit of research for some window knitting I've been doing. Now I've moved on to primula's in all their many and varied colours. Or in over words a bunch of crocheted primroses for just about every ball of wool I have in my room. Which I have to say has been a lot easier than knitting them!

However, it's a lot easier to lose track of the time when you're crocheting. Don't ask me why, but the hours slip by very quickly when you're obsessively churning out flower after flower which, by way of the position of your hand while working them, turns your left hand into the claw. I've also lost track of time because, whilst obsessively churning out flowers, I've been obsessively watching Battlestar Galactica.

Yep, I've turned into a Battlestar nerd after years of resistance. But I loves it!

Monday Mood Board: Star Light

Sequin Wallpaper by Tracy Kendall, Stars by Gaiakiyarae
Row 2: ! by Bonjour Celine!, Stars...Stars...Stars... via Pinterest, Glass Glitter Stars by MemrieMare
Row 3: Star Gazing by Kittyrogers, New Years Eve Glam via Pinterest, Hanging Stars via Pinterest

Had an odd thing happen last night. I was lying in bed, trying to get to sleep and noticed that the little battery operated star lights I bought at Christmas were randomly flashing on and off. It was only very dimly, but I swear they were off and still flashing. It's very distracting watching for little stars flashing in the dark as you try and sleep...which means I keep glancing up to see if it's still happening.

I'm going to post two boards tonight, the reason being as I was looking for star imagery I kept coming across pictures of snowflakes and since we've got more looming overhead I thought I'd throw something together as they do have a very star-like quality.

Doubt we'll be seeing stars for a while.

Monday Mood Board: Creams, Golds & Whites

Row 1: . by Anne Acaso, CUTMR-26 by Toronto Craft Alert, Glowing by Gigjae
Row 2: Racing Pigeons by Library Man, Nuevo Estilo via Dress, Design & Decor
Row 3: Boutons-detail by Dodi Doune, Spirit Week by Jordan Tiberio, Numo052005 by Loose Tooth

Final back logged mood board for today, and we have a plethora of creamy golds and whites to go along with our snow day.

Only seems appropriate to end with a snow inspired board, without the need for snow.

Hope everyone had a good day, snowed in or not.

Em x
